Humbled to design the poster and concert branding series for Monument City Brewing Co. in Baltimore, MD. Joe Pug performed a live & virtual concert on The Backstage - a new intimate concert series held in the heart of the brewery! Live streaming of the concert experience by WTMD, in Towson, MD which serves the Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. areas. Stoked to collaborate with the talent of Jeremy Friend for the custom lettered logo and wordmark Backstage Stage.
It all begins with an idea.
A concept first sketched out on paper as thumbnails. Who is Joe Pug? What does his music sound like? What is the vibe of the venue where he will be performing? The creative research and brainstorming begins. From Joe’s iconic harmonica to hop vines representing the brewery - there is no limit to imagination or creative rules. Print advertising is all about telling a story. Enticing your audience to stop and read your message.
I begin with a light pencil drawing outlining the creative center piece and focal point of the poster. Next, ink hits the paper using a variety of pen techniques including stippling and hatching. The final poster comes together with a mix of graphic design and Photoshop magic to create a poster design unlike any other.
