I’m Jen Borror, owner and illustrator behind Hoot Design Studio, based in York, Pennsylvania. I specialize in custom illustration and packaging design for brands that value authenticity, craftsmanship, and personality.
My work is rooted in the belief that the strongest brands are built by hand—not shortcuts. Every project starts with thoughtful, hand-drawn artwork designed to tell a story and create a lasting connection. I bring a wide range of illustration styles to the table, including pen and ink, engraving-inspired linework, bold color blocking, pattern design, and richly detailed digital paintings. This versatility allows each brand to have a look that feels intentional, distinctive, and truly its own.
My primary focus is packaging design, with extensive experience in cosmetics and beauty, craft beer labels, and food & beverage. Whether it’s a shelf-stopping beer can, a refined cosmetic box, or a bold food package, my goal is always the same: create artwork that feels human, memorable, and built to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

I specialize in beer label design and custom illustration, creating artwork that helps breweries tell their story and stand out on the shelf. From hand-drawn pen and ink illustrations to bold, graphic color blocking and detailed linework, every label is crafted with intention and personality. I believe great beer deserves equally thoughtful artwork—illustrations that feel authentic, cohesive, and unmistakably human. Each label is designed to build brand recognition, clearly communicate the beer’s character, and give customers a reason to reach for it again.

I specialize in custom illustration and packaging design. Equipped with 20 years experience, my studio offers graphic design and illustration that works just as hard as you do. No cutting corners, no smoke and mirrors. Straight forward original art, hand crafted illustrations and engaging design.
So what’s my story?
I’ve worked in the design and marketing industry since 2004. After the passing of my father in 2019, I was fueled with ambition to open my own design studio and focus on my craft: illustrating. During my father’s journey with dementia, I would catch glimpses of the man I once knew and he often reminded me “Life is short, Jenny do what you love now while you have time.” Words that will forever guide me in my entrepreneurship.
After being in remission from Crohn’s disease for almost 10 years, my autoimmune disorder decided to surface shortly after the passing of my Father. I knew then it was time to make the leap of faith and open Jen’s Creative Designs LLC. This rewarding career choice allowed me to work from home after 15 years designing for advertising agencies including a designer at York Wallcoverings. I re-branded my company into a DBA: Hoot Design Studio as I began focusing in on illustration and packaging design - my true passion. With a toolbox of experience in branding, creative layout and production I provide custom solutions to help you stand out from the noise.
I enjoy working with forward thinking companies looking for one-of-a-kind designs and innovation to match their brands. My detailed yet minimalistic and organic drawings elevate the look of craft beer labels, packaging, T-shirts, editorials, apparel, surface design and so much more.
The creative process begins with an idea. A tailor-made thought that is first expressed with pencil and paper.
Oh … and of course coffee! But, no seriously - good design flows from the think tank on my shoulders to paper in its original form. Once a concept is brainstormed and carefully thought out and explored, then I start in designing on that magic box I call my iMac.
