Grateful for the creative opportunity to establish the branding, illustration work and label design for Tahoe Tessie Hard Seltzers in Reno, Nevada. - a hard seltzer line by Record Street Brewing Company. Take a peek below at my creative process in establishing this fun and refreshing brand.
Creative development of Tahoe Tessie including hand lettered logo design, illustration, label design, branding, coasters, stickers and t-shirt design. From creative concept to final deliverables, this was a blast to work on!
At Hoot Design Studio, it all begins with a sketch! A creative idea first expressed on paper with pencil. From there, depending on the scope of the design project, I ink the lines of the illustration and digitize the artwork.
A warm thank you to the expert lettering of Jeremy Friend and the collab on this custom hand lettered logo design! Follow his work on Instagram as well. Jeremy is well known in the industry for his custom lettering, logo design and professional type design. Gander his logotypes and all things letterforms. Your eyeballs will thank you, trust me!
The creative branding comes to life when paired with my hand drawn illustration work. Keeping the brand fun and colorful! Hand drawn art gives this seltzer line a custom and personal vibe. No clip art here! I design and illustrate everything specifically for your brand.
The first flavor release was Lime! I dressed this can up to highlight Lake Tahoe itself and bring in the inspiration and legend of the lake monster itself. Establishing a label layout and composition that works well in any colorway allows me to switch out the color for the next flavor release. Keeping the branding and unity from can to can, Tahoe Tessie Seltzers are sure to leave you feeling freshed.
Tahoe Tessie Hard Seltzers take their inspiration from the legend of the Tahoe Tessie, a long-lost cousin to the world famous Loch Ness Monster. Tessie is a Lake Tahoe folklore that has long been shared and now can be celebrated with a moment of pure refreshment. Discover the crisp flavor as your taste buds dive into North America's largest alpine lake, home of the 60-foot-long serpentine creature.
There is nothing like seeing your art in the wild! I’m honored to have developed the design and branding for this delicious liquid. The creative label design is printed on clear substrate and shrink wrapped to the can to create a clean and professional look. My design studio specializes in label design, packaging design and the craft beer industry and focuses on brewery branding.

Coaster design and taproom branding keeps your company brand forward creating awareness in the customer’s mind.
The second flavor release is Strawberry Lemonade! YUM Tahoe Tessie’s original Lime flavor has a friend. When developing the branding, I designed the label in such a way that the creative artwork could change depending on the flavor of the product inside! They key to branding is keeping the unity and consistency from label to label on the shelf at the distributor. Customer’s will recognize the brand, and the layout of the label but will notice the color change triggering them to pick it up and say hey wait a minute this is NEW! I have to try it! Hence, making a purchase!
Custom packaging design can really make your product stand out. At Hoot Design Studio, I combine the art of graphic design and illustration to provide unique solutions for brands looking to stand out on the shelf. Your label design is the front end billboard for the amazing liquid inside. When hiring a professional graphic designer, make sure the label art keeps the laces out so to speak and conveys the vibe and culture of your brewery.
